Eduardo B.V. da Silveira, M.D., MSc
Dr. Eduardo B.V. da Silveira obtained his undergraduate and medical degree from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. He performed his internship, residency in Internal Medicine and his Gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Miami. He also obtained a Masters degree in Clinical Epidemiology at McGill University in Montréal where underwent a third tier training in biliary and pancreatic endoscopy. He then completed an additional year of endoscopy ultrasound (EUS) at Stanford University.
As a Board Certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine, Dr. da Silveira’s expertise includes gastrointestinal cancer, diseases of the gallbladder, biliary and pancreatic systems and Barrett’s esophagus. Besides conventional endoscopic procedures, he is also specialized in ERCP, EUS, and Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR). Dr da Silveira has published several articles and abstracts addressing the role of EUS and ERCP in the management of benign and malignant diseases.
Dr Eduardo da Silveira has served as EUS and ERCP gastroenterology specialist at VA Medical Center from 2006 until 2008, when he joined SJGI. He has been very active in the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE).
Dr da Silveira speaks 4 languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese and French). Dr. da Silveira joined San Jose Gastroenterology in March 2009.
