It is our great pleasure to introduce Dr. Abhishek Choudhary who joined San Jose Gastroenterology in April 2019, with 7 years of experience as a Gastroenterology specialist.
Dr. Choudhary is board certified in Gastroenterology. He completed residency and fellowship training at the University of Missouri in 2012. He was chosen to serve as Chief Resident and Chief Fellow during training.
Dr. Choudhary received advanced fellowship training in therapeutic endoscopy at Stanford University in 2016. Advanced skills include ERCP, EUS, and endoluminal endoscopic techniques such as complex polypectomy, Barrett’s resection, ablation, and stent placement.
After training, he joined the faculty at the University of Missouri as an Assistant Professor and later became Endoscopy Director at Kansas City VA Medical Center. He has participated in multiple research studies, published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals, and received awards at national and international scientific meetings.
Dr. Choudhary uses his state-of-the-art skills while providing compassionate care for his patients. He strives to “teach patients about the disease process and involve them in the management plan.”
He is fluent in English and Hindi.
During his free time, Dr. Choudhary enjoys watching the Golden State Warriors and playing basketball and tennis with his family. He is married and has two sons.
