San Jose Gastroenterology is excited to announce the arrival of Dr. Hoan Tran! Dr. Tran will join our growing practice on September 1, 2021.
Dr. Tran is a Bay Area native, where he grew up and completed his undergraduate studies. He received his medical degree from UC Davis, California. He then completed his internal medicine training at Loma Linda University where he was awarded the Internal Medicine Resident of the Year award. This was followed by the completion of his gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at the State University of New York (SUNY), Buffalo.
Dr. Tran did one year of private practice in Reno, Nevada, and then established a 6-year hospital-based practice in Chico, California, where he was the GI clinic director and GI Medical Board director. He is now returning home to San Jose and will be joining us in September.
Dr. Tran is board-certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He has a variety of clinical interests and is skilled in all areas of general gastroenterology and hepatology. He has particular expertise in inflammatory bowel disease and chronic liver diseases. Dr. Tran performs upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy, ph testing, and hemorrhoid banding. He is fluent in English and Vietnamese.
Dr. Tran loves to spend his spare time with his wife, daughter and his dog, skiing, hiking, and paddleboarding.
