Coronavirus Advisory- Help us limit exposure

If you have a fever or cough, and have either traveled internationally within the last 14 days or have been in contact with a person or location known or suspected to have been exposed to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), please call our clinic at (408) 347-9001 to reschedule your appointment.

Ongoing news about the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to be a source of concern for everybody, including our staff and patients. Therefore, San Jose Gastroenterology (SJGI) is taking steps to be prepared, to prevent the spread of the disease. We are following the recommendations from the CDC and county department of public health.

We would like to remind everyone of some standard health practices that can prevent the spread of COVID-19, such as:

-Practice good hand hygiene. Wash your hands frequently with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer for at least 20 seconds.

-Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.

-Avoid close contact with people who are sick, especially if you are at a higher risk for serious illness.
-If you have fever, cough, or other respiratory symptoms, contacts your regular doctor first before going to the emergency room.

-Avoid visiting hospitals, long term care facilities, or nursing homes to the extent possible.
-Cough into a tissue or into the crook of your arm.

-Follow the local, state, and national recommendation and guidance.

The situation is changing frequently. It creates uncertainty and concern. The safety and well being of our patients and staff remains our top priority. If we all take steps to protect our community, and ourselves the spread of the disease hopefully will be minimal.
